The Global Fellows Program at Penn State Altoona welcomes Seoul Women’s University students from the Republic of Korea to collaborate with Penn State Altoona students.
Their most recent project involves enhancing customer privacy at sheetz.com. The project involves technology but also requires students from both countries to assimilate into a team, gaining valuable cross-cultural skills and understanding while working together towards a common goal.
During this eight-week program, students:
- Demonstrated and articulated employability skills sought after by global organizations,
- Worked on a project that showcased the ability to work effectively in an international team setting, and
- Communicated with co-workers and managers efficiently in a distributed team environment.
Other activities for this cohort included group discussions and guest speakers helping students learn from each other and developing their insights on how to thrive in this increasingly globalized world. Students also participated in field trips to Penn State University University Park, New York City, Niagara Falls, and Washington, D.C.
